Re: Early 101 and 91 blocks question...
Allan, speaking of the 91 and 91A blocks, I have never seen any problems with the blocks warping or being weak in any way. I've had 91's that run very very close to my best 91b's or 91b1's. I personally think they are good blocks.

Re: Finger Port Depth ?
Bill, I would copy the depth of a 91b-b1 boost port. Also, it's a good idea to build up the outside of the block with Marine Tex epoxy (it's fuel resistant). Re: Mc101 reed damage
The first thing that comes to my mind is that you may have one of the early stock manifolds that allows the reeds to set deeper than later ones. Look at your manifold, you want the one that has a raised "H" cast in it . The earlier ones lead to the problem you describe. Your explanation of the edge ...

Re: 7414 Mac PTO seal
I buy these seals and bearings from my local bearing supply house. Locally we have Motion Industries or Kaman Industrial which probably are located across the country, look for them. Or look in your phone book under "bearings".

Re: mcculloch ringed pistons
After building and running McCullochs for 15 years or so in my first karting life and 6 years in vintage karting, I've seen very few ring pins come out and cause the damage you describe. The only time in memory was a customer engine and my guess was that he did not set the ring end gap properly. I'v...
