Gas Generator runs but no power to outlets; simple trick

It isn’t Kart related but it is small engine weirdness….

I have seen this work FIRST HAND with my Buddy’s 5500 UST Generator!

Further research reveals his uses a rectangular 24 micro farad capacitor that would likely resolve the issue with his Gen.

https://youtu.be/5r3hoxMryEI?t=86 I copied the link to shorten it so now it’s only a minute or so long watch.
There are tons of videos like this one on YouTube. I searched “generator field flashing” Knowing this trick when you need it the most when everything is going sideways is priceless in my opinion.
Gloves advised when doing the reverse drill twist.

My 1978 Pincor 4000watt doesn’t have the newer electronics so I am immune from this condition and being points and condenser ignition, I don’t have to worry about CME/EMP shagging my Generator all up.

Same goes for 1979 Homelite 4000 watt unit. But I did store away a spare OEM silicon Rectifier for it in a sealed tin.
Parts are still widely available for the 8HP Briggs and Stratton and the HM-80 Tecumseh. I just static timed the Tecumseh to .090” BTDC with a fresh set of cleaned contact points and the OEM Condenser as well. I had to remove the Head for the dial indicator measurement.

As always stabilize your non-ethanol fuel before filling the equipment and maybe your generator will fire on 6 plus year old gas like mine did.

Thanks for reading,
