Cool kart you got there and in great shape too! Probably a 59 or 60 model year. Looks like it was set up for a Clinton A400. I've seen a few karts that were made in Canada and I never recognized any of them. There must have been lots of karts made up north but I don't remember very many in the early karting books.
Lost track of a guy that used to come to The Big One and Batavia from Canada. He had lots of info about the Canadian Karting eh!

Yes, very cool! I love those pedals, I've never seen ones like that, obviously they were cast for use on a kart and might be a good clue to tracking down the kart mfg.

Also look at Quarter Midget makers. lots of them made both as they were already set up for making little cars.

How did they mount the engines? U bolts or a special cast mount like a Caretta? I think that wold e a huge hint in finding it's origin.

Dave.......this looks like a modified Drag 'N' Fly manufactured by the Potvin Equipment Company in Anaheim California sometime before 1960 . Potvin sold lots of cast parts, but I don't remember seeing any cast pedal like yours before .
The steering wheel, the hoop, the chassis (except for the bumpers), wheels, and the engine position all seem to resemble the early Potvin Kart.
Came with a Clinton a-490 engine and sold for $169.50 .......in the ads they covered the steel wheels with Baby Moons !
Let's Go Karting had a Drag N Fly on the front cover along with a number of other popular karts of the day, it was painted white.......the pedals were welded circle types though .......your Kart may just be another makers clone of the Potvin, but oh so close .

from the look of the frame, paint, and welds, it has never been modified...only a couple welds have been repaired...
