Thank's Rob , but like normal you are wrong on a couple things . It's not on a kart it's on a saw and i'm not the one working on it

. He did put a new needle and seat in the carb . Isn't there a washer that goes in before the eat is screwed in ?

Yes small copper washer under the seat. If they get reused to many times they also leak so you need a new one. Is the needle tip in good shape? Is the seat in good shape? Is their dirt under the needle? Also new needles have a coating on them so make sure it's been cleaned off. Arm is set right also. If it's to high it might be pressing on the fulcrum arm when assembled & letting fuel in.

Thank's Rob , Everything is new . He didn't have the washer under the seat , put a new one in , still leak's but not as bad .The seat has rubber in the bottom end none on needle . He didn't clean the needle that i know of . Said it only leak's when it's running

. I would think if it was going to leak it would leak when not running or both . It is on an old David Bradley saw . Also the reeds don't look to be in very good shape . I know that has nothing to do with leak , just saying . Is there anywhere to get new reed's for it that you know of ? They are metal one's . Maybe make some out of old feeler gauge ?

Hey, Don. What brand and model is the engine? A number of the guys have phenolic reed petals for various engines. A friend of Hank Rotroff in Ohio has a lot of different reeds. Phenolic's better than steel. Ted

Carb is probably all right & it's just blowing gas back out the bad reeds when it runs. You can always order some material & cut your own reeds out if you can't find some on ebay or a small engine shop.

Here's a good source for G-10 phenolic reec material. The rocket guys use it for fins. TJ
