Hello all, Say is there anyone who might be familiar with these frames? I have one that needs assembled but not sure I have all the pieces. My sales brochure shows a breakdown of the torsion/box motor mounts and the connection points and it looks like there are some parts I do not have. Any help appreciated. I talked to Hanson Duncan seveal years ago as he had a Neal but his was of a different style than mine. Thanks. Tom

Rob, in the brochure I have it shows the box mounts seperated from the forward frame and there appear to be some kind of attaching device that secures the box mount ot the forward frame. I do not have these pieces. I'll try and take a picture and send to your e addy. Thanks Tom

Tom, if you go to vintagekarts.com and type in " Neal flex " in the Search line at the Forums, it should lead you to a forum with a picture of the Neal I have. I decided not to restore it. I did grind off the 4-cycle mount someone welded on back and the kart has some useful parts. I am keeping the Bendix brake unit and the front turbine wheels. I think the part you are referring to is just a bushing that insulates the frame rail from the piece that goes under the mounting plate. I'll take a few pic for you this weekend. Tom, since this is an uncommon frame, I decided to post pics here for all who might be interested can see.
The Neal Torsion-Flex frame has engine mounts on both sides. Most of these pics are of the left side mount.
The pics are of from a rough unrestored parts kart so look past the rust.

Pic 1 shows the front bracket assembly that bolts to the front of the swing mount and connects it to the main frame rail. Behind that you can see the rear axle bearing brackets.
In Pic 2 I pushed the metal mount rearwards off the rubber grommet.
In Pic 3 the rubber bushing is pushed rearwards on the frame rail to you can see the front washer that is at the front of the assembly. It is a pretty thick ring like a washer but fits the frame pretty precisely.
Pic 4 is a pic of the assembly still exploded and viewed from the rear.

Pic 7 is a better pic of the front engine mount bracket that sits on the rubber grommett. The two bolts on the top bolt to the front of the swing mount.
Last Pic: This shows how it all fits together. The front of the swing mount bolts to the front bracket and at the rear, the swing mount mounts to the rear axle on both sides of the frame bearing hangers.
I hope this answers your questions. This is a cool frame. I would love to be able to bring this one back to life it it's too bent and out of allignment and the front axle is no good. All the other unique frame fittings are in good shape though............Ron
