Does anyone know anything about a company named aquakart? They used mc70 engines in small hydro plane boats.

They were in one of the early Karting magazines. Also in some of the early hot rod magazines. They were a crazy all of there own.

Like Rob says, there were many brands of hydrokart in the early days of karting. Azusa Engineering manufactured the Wotta Whip. I had one from our shop for a VERY short time, but I sold it quickly, as I hate to be wet. There were even outboard motor lower units built for the Mac kart engines. I had a West Bend 820 on my Wotta Whip. If only I could have had a full cab so I didn't get wet! Ted

Shawn, Aquakart incorporated in late 1963 and they debuted the the rocket with a west bend 820 and the water bomb with a maico 250 cc engine at the coliseum in New York city in January 1964.
Aquakart was located in Miami Florida.

Nice piece, Rick. The Water Bomb isn't bad either. We had one fellow in Melbourne, FL who got a Wotta Whip from me, and had Pop and I build TWO ported, dual carb 820's for it. I rode it one time, just to check out the engine install. It was pretty insane. I remember he sold it pretty quick. We had the entire Indian River to play in, and there were a few races held in lake Poinsett near Cocoa. With my aversion to water, I stuck to land karting. I don't even like to WADE! Funny for a guy born and raised in Brevard County. Ted
