I have listed a Hands mount on ebay. This is a VERY nice, (not to mention hard to find) mount. If you're looking for one of these, you'll probably want to check this one out. I'm fast10p there. Any questions, you can contact me here or there!! Thanks!!!

Is that mount made by Hands? I always thought they were made by GEM!

Steve: Hands, Trophy, pretty much the same thing. Mostly sold by Bug as Trophy. All made under the aegis of Zip Keyes. There were at least three versions with different gusset configurations. Dwain's has a few extra holes, but looks pretty nice. Ron Cubel has several really nice ones in the different config's for his Xterminators. I must've sold a hundred in the old days. Ted

It was pretty much the standard mount in our East Central Florida area, far outselling the GEM, McCulloch and Palmini angle mounts. As soon as GEM introduced the horizontal bottom carb mount, that became popular. TJ

Funny thing, most GEM mounts I've saw had GEM cast in them, this has a "Hands" insignia!!

None of mine have any identifying marks in the casting aywhere. Did GEM make a copy of the original Hands version? They are great looking mounts and I thought I had seen one in a GEM catalog from the early 60s so I have always thought they were a GEM product.
Where is the Hands identification mark on the mount?? Is it prominent or something small?

Steve, there's usually no Hands (or later Trophy) ident on the mount. It had nothing to do with GEM at all. GEM made somewhat similar mounts, but they were not the same casting. Hands mounts (and wheels plus steeringt wheels) were standard on Bug, Xterminator and other karts, but were mostly an aftermarket item. Hands sometimes, though seldom, put a Hands sticker on their products. You can get repops from Mike Anderson; Fleagle14 on eBay. Ted

I checked 5 of mine and they all have the same small logo on the bottom in the exact same location.
It is not stamped, appears to be a raised logo comprised of the letters A and D with a smaller C in the center and a tiny o to the right of the C. The whole emblem is about a quarter inch in diameter and the left side of the "A" is curved to match the right side of the "D" so the emblem is basically round.
Anyone know what the ACD or ADCo stands for?

They're most likely foundry marks such as appear on many castings. They may indicate alloy, heat, Etc. TJ
