Another misrepresented item on eRip (eBay)

Post by Gordon Duax » Fri Nov 02, 2007 3:55 pm

Be informed......

The guy selling 'NOS 580 West Bends' on eRip
(sargismotors - Bob Sargis)
fails to mention that they are not the original Westbend 580,
but the late production US Motors version.

If he had mentioned anything about them being the late version,
that US Motors recently dumped on the market,
he sure in hell would have never got my $500!

Maybe this is why he has recently removed the Paypal payment option?

Thank god he accepted paypal from me!

After talking to him on the phone,
( I had to listen to his whole "these are the same" line)
He agreed to take it back, and refund my money.
I guess he wants to keep his 100% feedback rating.

$500 is a little steep for a late production engine.
Yes, I know that they are the same, but they are NOT NOS Westbends....
They are US Motor 580s.
If you want to pay $500 for one,
fine, what ever floats your boat.

From what I understood, these engines had the 3/4" PTO.........a dead giveaway that they were not Vintage.

Russ, I realize that now.
But the old eyes, just are not what they used to be.
Or the urge to buy it over powered common sense..........

I would leave this guy a neg feedback, but that will just get me one also.
(great system you have there eBay !)
Every single negative I have is either from a non-paying bidder, or from someone who ripped me off !

So I don't leave them any longer.
